Cameras can RECORD images; however, images can also penetrate the conscience, where they are stored and may perhaps never be deleted again from the mind. This is where the filmmaker’s work process comes in: which frames do I want, which may I use, which can I not take responsibility for showing, which must I show nevertheless.
The film selection of the 25th EMAF takes you on a visual journey around the globe, leading us from familiar, exotic places and past events to personal, touching posts in the artist’s life.

Exhibition

Revolve

This year's exhibition will show kinetic objects, monitor installations and light art projects, in addition to "Sound Walks": equipped with a smartphone, visitors can explore sound spaces all over the city.

EMAF Congress

RETHINK

This year's congress deals with the 25th anniversary. Moreover there will be presentations of current political interest about the revolutions in the arabic countries, especially Syria and Egypt.
Among others, the media theorist and director of the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Peter Weibel, will be holding a lecture in Osnabrück.

Media Campus

The Media Campus is a platform for young artists from all over the world. It will offer a journey through current media art, featuring film programmes, workshops, a University Day and various students' works in the exhibition.
